Today in the fashion world, we like to talk a lot about personal style and how we should all express ourselves through clothes and accessories. It’s something you probably heard so many times, that now you are rolling your eyes while reading this text.

I got the idea while I was browsing the streetstyle galleries on site like Vogue and Elle for inspiration. Something felt wrong. Everyone was wearing the same things: hoodies, Vetemens jeans, Gucci or JW Anderson bags, rock band T-shirts, etc. Trends are nice and I did like all of the things mentioned above, but what happened to the real streetstyle inspiration? What is personal style after all and how do we create it?

I don’t have an exact answer to these questions, but I want to share with you who really inspires me. So this will be the first article of a series named Style Files, where you will get to meet some very stylish ladies, who know how to work the trends in their favour.

Andreea works as a photographer and she’s one of those ladies with impecable taste. I’ve been following her  Instagram for a while and I love every single outfit of hers, so I asked to answer a couple of questions and give us some tips&tricks.

Your style in 3 words: vintage, simple, monochromatic

5 Styling Tips you would like to share with us:

1.When in doubt, take it off. Less is definitely more.

  1. I am an obsessive sleeve roller. If a sleeve can be rolled up, I will. I think it gives a more casual vibe to a look. But sleeves that can’t be rolled are great too, especially if they have exaggerated proportions.

  2. Comfort is essential. And I don’t just mean ‘wear comfortable shoes’. But more, if you’re comfortable you feel confident: so go for a fit that suits you best, adapt trends to your own style and do keep an eye on the height of your heels, especially if you’re going to be shooting all day long.

  3. For all those moments when you can’t be bothered with thinking what goes with what, the classic ‘all black’ is a light saver. And playing with textures elevates the otherwise bland look. So go for sheer, shiny, silky and all the other ‘s’s you might have in your closet.

  4. Sunnies, sunnies, sunnies. In all shapes and forms. Not so much a style tip, but a necessity. The instant ‘can’t tell you edited all night’ life saver that never leaves my bag.

Statement piece: A bright red knitted top + skirt set.

Fashion Icon: Any of the characters from the Wes Anderson cinematic universe.

Boldest fashion choice: A vintage dressing gown I wore during Paris Fashion week, with this amazing geometric/floral pattern. Dressing gowns were not considered outwear back then.

Most treasured item: My camera (collection).

Biggest extravagance:  Issey Miyake vintage top in the lushest copper hue.

Favourite bag: I have so many bags, you could easily call me ‘the crazy bag lady’! The good thing is that I will soon launch a vintage online shop and I will part with some of them. I love vintage skin bags and one that I wear a lot is a chocolate brown, Kelly style, alligator bag. Recently I’ve been buying vintage camera straps so I can give an instant update to the sometime ‘too vintage looking’ bags.

Shoe crush: I love Mansur Gavriel shoes! They have this great indoor meets outdoor relaxed vibe and the perfect balance between comfort and femininity.
